Simon Yarwood is Knowledge Transfer Manager for ICT and KTN, where he is a key contact for innovative UK business in the software industry, providing links to sources of funding and finance, or connections to other business for collaborative R&D and partnerships.
In KTN Simon also leads the communities of both Energy Efficient Computing and e-Infrastructure (High Performance Computing). The focus of the e-Infrastructure group is to increase SME uptake of UK National HPC facilities, which combines perfectly with the need for energy efficient software to maximise the use of these large computing facilities. Simon works with the advisory boards for both areas to identify opportunities to increase visibility of the facilities and share knowledge to assist them operating to a limited energy budget.
KTN is a not for profit organisation, supported by a grant from Innovate UK, offering trustworthy and impartial advice to innovative UK business.
Prior to joining KTN, Simon was Head of Sector for Information and Communications for the Institution of Engineering and Technology, where he helped identify key topics in communications and computing for activity across conferences, publishing, standards and policy departments.
